Today we turn to the Psalms, a wonderful book of songs and prayers that help us stay connected to God.
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.
The eternal church will be a multiethnic gathering of love and reconciliation and unity, all pointed at the worship of Jesus Christ. All nations and all peoples will be gathered around the throne. This means that in the meantime, the church’s work of announcing the salvation of God is much more than the saving of individual souls. Salvation is a corporate reality. Each one who is saved points to a greater story, the good news that is saving a community, called the church, which includes people from every tribe and race and tongue.
Pray this Psalm several times over, giving thanks to the Lord for his salvation.
I praise you, O Lord my God, and I join my voice to that of all your people around the world who proclaim your goodness and announce your salvation for all people. Your love is incredible. You are always faithful. I praise you, O Lord my God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
